More than just a drag queen - Gigi Zahir, the human behind Crayola, is also a seasoned actor and theatre-maker.

“They have the audience eating out of the palm of their hand” - What’s On Stage

“Riotously funny” - The Independent

“Steals the show with their intoxicating charisma” - The Indiependent

With training from The Stella Adler Studio of Acting, and over a decade of experience on stage and in front of the camera, Gigi can leap from campy pantomime, to on-screen subtlety, to weighty Shakespeare on a dime. For stage and screen, Crayola the Queen and Gigi Zahir are represented by The Soundcheck Group.

  • Pantos

Don’t let the American accent fool you - Gigi is no stranger to the ins and outs of pantomime and British humour. Here they are performing as Widow Hanky in Aladdin and the Feast of Wonders at The Vaults, 2019.

  • Shakespeare

Gigi handles poetic language with deftness and clarity, while injecting these old texts with refreshing queerness, colour and life. Here they are doing just that as Trinculo and Antonio in Wildcard’s TEMPEST at The Pleasance Theatre, 2022.

  • Film

Gigi also has the chops to pull back and deliver the rawness and realism needed for work in TV & Film. Here they are in “Sketch Day”, dir. Jem Chevilotte, 2020.
